I have to agree with problemaddict2.... I think that MOST of the younger "generation" do not know understand or are interested in the old doctrines and intricacies of anything that is complicated or convoluted....
A social club it is...... Especially if they are raised in this psychopathic lifestyle.... Those new kids/ apostates from Canada, who've been making YouTube videos understand the ins and the outs, but I wonder how many really do?

I liked this quote:
"One such group is Jehovah's Witnesses, according to cult expert and counsellor, Raphael Aron, director of cult consulting in Australia, and author of Cults Too Good To Be True. (Harper Collins, Australia 1989); and Cults, Terror and Mind Control. (Bay Tree Publications, California 2007).
Particularly interested in 'shunning', a practice that devalues, humiliates and disfellowships members from their organisation"

Today's Special Day Assembly Expenses and the $10,499 Deficit. Silent Majority?
by Tenacious intoday i attended a one-day assembly in my hometown.
i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.
sure enough, after lunch came the announcement.

$11,000? ..... Did they make an announcement that they would like to send the leftovers to "Mother"? Did they ask for a consensus? and did everyone clap? -

If you are going to believe in the Bible, you need to ask, 'Why would God need to "change light"?' Give "new" light?
Another scripture says, "Satan is an angel of light"
JWs always wonder, "What "new light" will we get at this year's convention?"

The term "Apostate" is used like a cross to keep evil spirits away.
Having a problem understanding? Can't explain? Don't know how to answer?
Call the source an 'apostate', and everything is all better again. You don't have to think about it anymore. Done..... Gone.....

I agree with all before me, and from my observations (looking back in life... even within JWville) it does take about 2 years to develop a good friendship. Like AudeSapere said, invite yourself to join your workmates for coffee, or an outing. Having fun with someone is the beginning of everything!

The Heartless JW
by babygirl30 insoooo...i have recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and am scared out of my mind.
in a weak moment, i called my parents and my mom answered.
i start crying as i tell her about my disease, and this woman says to me:.

Grrrrrr..... so sorry your mom treats you like that! I would not have done so to my child even if I was a JW and they were DF'd. It seems that there are treatments to help you with your condition, hugs to you, grrrrrrs to your mom ;-)
PS: I am not DF'd, I just don't go to meetings, and wished that Candace Conti would win her court trial so that the WT would change it's policies, and my mom treats me as if I am DF'd. Very controlled by the Borg.

True believers never save their money
by stillin init's an article of faith.
either god is going to save them or he is not.
since one local elder proudly told me that he never saved a nickel until just before his retirement, i've given this subject some thought.. savers are worldly..

I feel trapped...I might return to the Borg....
by JustHuman14 ini have being thinking quite a while before posting.
actually i haven't post for quite a long in the forum and i guess i'm one of the old ones, since i became member since 2001.. after leaving the borg for almost 16 years and disfellowshiped 10 years ago.
you can see my relevant post:.

Hi JustHuman14, so sorry you are sick. I guess I would consider all factors, like: will you soon be debilitated? Are you limited in life years?
If you will need total physical support soon, that is one thing, if you have hope of recovery, that's another.
Taking that all into consideration, "coming back" (into this"loving organization") can be hell. Like all the other posters have stated, there are power trippin' people out there that can make it hard on you. You are right, it should be like the "Prodigal Son" arms open, banquet planning! But, alas, it's not.
If hypocrisy and evil get to you, and you can't take the stress, maybe it's better to live w/o it... If you can take the "dont we looooove this new teaching" (& it's cool w/ you to be reading the tablet/ posting here during the meeting) go for it.....
Like all have said, do what YOU need to do....
Maybe looking up articles (better yet, scriptures) about taking care of loved ones, even if DF'd, will convince them to help.
I hope you make it, let us know how it goes, please!
